Development of supervision
The Transport and Water Management Inspectorate founds and develops its supervision based on supervision arrangements. Each domain has its own supervision arrangement, which is periodically revised.
The revision/development process for a supervision arrangement can be divided into five component processes, being valuation, scoping, outlook development, detailing/implementation, and management. The planning of this process was anchored in the multi-annual programme Toezicht in Beweging 2006-2007 (Supervision in Motion 2006-2007). The result of the process is a new arrangement of supervision which serves as a foundation for supervision for a period of three to four years.
This report results from the ‘design’ component process of the outlook on improved supervision for certification and measurement in inland shipping. The goal of this design is to arrive at a composition of innovation measures which can provide a solution to (a part of) the problems as detected in the evaluation and as prioritised at the scoping.
