Registration of seagoing vessels
Seagoing vessels can sail under Dutch flag if they are registered at the Kadaster (registration office) or in the Bareboat Charter Register. For the ship owner there are requirements to set up the company. Each type of ship requires certain inspections and certificates.
The procedure to register a vessel under the Dutch flag is given below.
Two types of registration
There are two types of registration for seagoing vessels:
- Full registration in the Dutch Register;
- Bareboat Charter Registration.
Application for registration
Use the relevant application form (Dutch version) for the registration of a seagoing vessel.
For a quick registration the form needs to be filled in fully, correctly and readable.
The attachments must be included in the application. The address is shown on the form.
